Peugeot Aromium Decanter
The Aromium Aeration set is ideal for decanting young wines, as it oxygenates the wine at two locations: the top where its aerator is of a particularly open shape, and at the bottom, where the deacanter flares out widely. The dripper stand is used to place the aerator elegantly on the table after use.
For a 75cl bottle.
Why use a decanter?
Wine is poured into a decanter above all to awaken it so that it can reveal its full personality.
Mature red wine decanter:
A mature wine is fragile; its aromas have reached their peak. Decanting it seperates the wine from its sediment and provides very slight oxygenation, which will gently awaken it. A decanter with a long, narrow neck and slightly pot-bellied base minimises the exchange of air, preserving the wine's bouquet while enchancing its colour.
Young red wine decanter:
The ideal decanter for a young wine is wide-based or has a horizontal shape (known as "Canard" [duck-shaped]), to favour the mingling of wine with the air.
White wine decanter:
To reveal the subtle fleeting aromas of a white wine, it will have to breathe, and be protected from rapid evaporation. A mature wine decanter will thus be used to preserve it while revealing the nuances of colour.
