Beaverdale Californian Red
Zinfandels produced commercially are usually red or blush wine that can range in taste from sharp and full bodied to smooth with earthy qualities. White Zinfandel uses the Chenin grape - which is refreshing to the palate. The Californian varietal produces a mellow fruity character with a distinctive floral after taste. The Red Zinfandel is a cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignane, deep in colour and full in flavour which makes this a great table wine.
Richard Blackwell (the owner of Wineworks) saw a gap in the market in the late 80's for a really good quality wine kit, and launched a range called The House of Beaverdale. Throughout the next 15 years he developed this range with improvements in quality, varieties and packaging, to solidify its position as the best selling quality wine kit in the UK.
