Homebrew Supply

There are many homebrew supply shops through out the country but unfortunately not as many as there used to be. During the boom times in the mid 80’s there seemed to be a homebrew supply shop on ever street corner and nearly all the large supermarkets were also selling homebrew products. If in doubt of where to find the supplies we always had Boots the Chemist to fall back on. They didn’t keep a fantastic range of homebrew supplies but it was certainly adequate and we were able to get something similar to what we wanted even if it was not the exact thing.

Now the shops which are still trading tend to specialise homebrew, so the selection available in these outlets is really good. The only problem to this is a lot of the manufacturers in the 80’s have now gone out of business and this has meant the choice is considerably less than it used to be. The UK was the lead for homebrew supply and set the trend in the 80’s but we have seen in recent times that the market in wine kits has been dominated by Canadian manufacturers which was initially a bit of a surprise. However when we think about it, they are really close to good quality grape juice with bordering the States and they are well positioned for Chile so its not really that much of a surprise. They are also importing a lot of European juice with the bulk of this coming from Italy. The homebrew supply chain has really become quite global now and we have also witnessed products coming from as far a field as New Zealand (mainly spirit and liqueur flavouring) and Australia (the bulk of the imports being beer kits but soon we are expecting to also see some wine kits with the amount of grape juice they have).

The change in retailing patterns also mean the internet has made a considerable change to people buying habits and the homebrew supply has also featured in this move. We have several retailers Wineworks amongst them who are now using this method of being able to supply product to the householder without the need to go out. We hope that you will find our site informative and useful and we hope we will be your chosen homebrew supply outlet.
